Josh was an active member of Builds Bio+ on behalf of LPE/PMA, which has been a corporate member since 2018 and he will be sorely missed.

Survived by his wife Julie and daughter Cate, Josh will be fondly remembered by his colleagues as someone for whom the professional was always personal and who cared deeply about his work. Over a 35+ year career in development and project management, his commitment and passion for his work resulted in the delivery of more than $3 billion in projects for premiere healthcare, education, and life science research institutions, including NYU Langone Health, NYU Winthrop Hospital, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Lavelle School for the Blind, and United Therapeutics.

Josh was founder and leader in 2007 of New York City-based LPE Management Services, known for delivering high quality care and cutting-edge projects in the New York metropolitan market. After merging with PMA in 2021, Josh remained as executive in charge of what became the seventh PMA office. Before that, he was a founding member of Rand Engineering PC and LPE Engineering PC. Throughout his career Josh remained professionally focused on the healthcare, life sciences and research sectors, and developing long-lasting relationships with numerous clients and partners in those interrelated fields.

“Josh was a friend first, someone who valued relationships over everything. In parallel, he had a personal level of care and ownership of anything he put his hands on” observed Roger McCarron, CEO of PMA. “Prior to the merger, we held weekly get-to-know one another calls for two years nearly every Friday. For me these calls were a highlight of my entire professional career; we both knew going into business together that we shared values, a people-focused management philosophy and dedication to fostering relationships. We will all miss him dearly.”

“A courageous leader, mentor, and above all a friend, our time with Josh was all too short. He will be remembered as a foundational member of PMA leadership whose impact will be long lasting on all those he touched and an inspiration as we strive to move forward while honoring his legacy. We will miss him deeply” said Andrew Roscoe, PMA Eastern Regional President.

“Josh was not just a colleague or my boss, he was my dear and trusted friend of more than 10 years. He was always available to lend an ear or share a laugh, and I will dearly miss our impromptu get togethers to simply talk. Josh was kind, compassionate, and genuine, qualities that were matched only by his commitment to his family and to his work” said Jerry Maffia, PMA Project Director and longtime colleague. “Rest in peace dear friend, you will be deeply missed.”

Josh, a mentor and friend to many in the healthcare real estate field and a life-long New Yorker, was a graduate of Syracuse University and stayed involved in numerous industry healthcare organizations, including American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) and the Association of Medical Facilities Professionals (AMFP).
